Born into the famous Ninja series of sportsbikes, a title which the ZX6R still proudly displays to this day. Kawasaki would make many changes to the ZX6R over the coming years to keep up with competition from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. In Kawsaki made a big change where they increased the engine capacity to cc. I often see people getting confused with identifying these bikes. The ZX6 and the are exactly the same bike, though Kawsaki did make a ZX6-RR race version of the bike which maintained the cc capacity engine to ensure eligibility into displacement restricted supersport racing. In they further revised the engine with larger cams, a new head and polished ports.

The Kawasaki ZX-6R's track-intent is still present and correct, but thankfully the suspension is more responsive and less harsh. Its new slippery shape means that mph is just a following wind away. Now I have searched around and seen that sort of have some serious problems such as the ECU heating up, fuel pump going bad, and the transmission, so that kind of discourages me.

Kawasaki has made the Ninja ZX-6R since But it did so on the back of a few iterations of class motorcycles. And since then, Kawasaki has updated the ZX-6R considerably and multiple times, always maintaining its unique edge in the class segment in some way. Kawasaki has, with the ZX-6R, often done things differently. This is similar to their approach with many of their bikes. With the 6R, they were pretty unique in opting for a bigger-displacement engine for the street bike, when the other Japanese manufacturers stuck to sub cc. By centralizing the fuel mass near the center of the bike, chassis responsiveness is enhanced — weight transfers from turn to turn are lighter, and the chassis is exceptionally stable under acceleration and braking. The engine is definItely the strongest I've ridden that extra 36 cc makes a difference. The PITA factor plays into that; the older a bike is, the more likely it is to have problems. Anyhow great! Well, with the bigger motor giving so much extra mid range, the superb ergonomics, and a chassis and suspension package that is at least on a par with anything out there, I have a strong feeling the Kawasaki ZX-6R could go to the top of the class this year. No way no how the fork bushings aren't toast long before now, hell you should be on your second set really I believe it will be far cheaper and end up with a better end product to catch up on some of that "defferred" maintenance it sounds like has been neglected and make a few small improvements to your current ride, rather than try and sell a 51k bike and then buy someone elses used and abused 14 year old problems and figure those out and fix them! My recomendation is to buy one, to give you an idea! With useable midrange for a smaller cc sports bike on the road and cracking top end. It also utilizes a multi-disc wet clutch with a back-torque limiter. Larger 38mm throttle bodies help to boost the power and they are now oval shaped to save width.
