Turns out he really enjoy modding so he has expanded on it quite a bit, 7d2d mods. The intent is to drag out the early game, so it will take you longer than usual to get to 7d2d mods and Steel. Also, he started playing in Alpha 8, so he wanted to try and bring back a few things from that era.

Mods are used to improve the characteristics of weapons , tools , armor and vehicles. They can be mounted in the mod slots of the aforementioned items. The number of slots varies by quality between 1 and 4. On the following lists, mods are categorized based on their main usage. The division between weapon and tool mods reflects the overall impact the mods have on items. Most of the mods can be applied to both weapons and tools.
