Pros: Tuning, Value, Tonality and Timbre. Disclaimer: This IEM was bought at full price and this review is written of my own accord and all thoughts here are my own. To be completely honest, I felt nothing for these when I first saw pictures of them on release, 7hz zero frequency response.
This year I have been seeing a lot of output from the 7HZ brand, with new products coming out at a pretty rapid pace. It has only been a few weeks since I covered their last IEM, the Salnotes Dioko , and they already have another model for me to listen to. More of these have been popping up, such as the Moondrop Chu , further expanding the budget-fi marketplace. Is the Salnotes Zero a worthy addition to that selection? While the Zero might have a more plasticky look and feel to them, that only makes up the main chasis of the IEM. This is also the most ergonomic fit for 7HZ and feels the most simple to wear. Expect good support and comfort for multiple hours.

The 7Hz Salnotes Zero come in a packaging that reminds that of KZ earphones — a cardboard box with a sleeve and a transparent plastic window showing the earphones. The design of the shell is quite peculiar as it is generally triangular, but it is highly irregular. The shell is made of a single piece of plastic, whereas the faceplate is made of metal. You can see in the picture above it is coming off. Passive isolation is almost absent , so the 7Hz Salnotes Zero are not the best earphones to use in noisy environments. The cable is quite nice: it is made of two pairs of two cores and it is quite soft, with metal housings for both terminations as well as the Y-split. Soundstage has good width and depth, while imaging is great as it places instruments across the whole stage and gives each of them its own placement. Instrument separation is very good.
A good amount of gain is given to most elements in the fundamental and upper-midrange area.

Technicalities are okay for the price, and the midrange is quite balanced, with fast and tight bass and good clarity on display. They are not the best option for treble-sensitive folk or bassheads, and fit may be an issue for some. Soundstage is disappointing, and those who yearn for a thicker note weight with an analogue signature may also need to look elsewhere.

Everything considered, then, while the 7Hz Salnotes Zero has a lot of good things going for it, I think that there are better alternatives out there — just check the Best Of page to learn about some. My 2 cents is that if you have the extra coin, just save up and buy it, get something better and call it a day, rather than keep buying cheap budget sidegrades. The sound elements come through clearly and with strong definition, resulting in a performance with a distinguished identity. Iron man - The sound at the beginning is hard to make sound great, great drums, and cymbals, and if done right it feels like an old-school band. To conclude, if one has more premium IEMs in their inventory, there may not be much value-add to get the Zero. Password recovery. The Heart Mirror has greater treble extension, air and sparkle also. As per the previous post, the Aria SE is slightly better in technicalities than the 7Hz Zero, but it is not 4x better as what the price differential would suggest. The treble is much darker on the Tanya, with less air and sparkle, but they are smoother and less fatiguing as such. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
