Abigail morris Morris talks about the genesis of the band, she tends to split the timeline into three parts. The second, getting signed to Island records and recording their first album with legendary producer James Ford.

They have no permanent drummer, and are currently joined during live performances by Rebekah Rayner. The band signed with Island Records before releasing their debut single " Nothing Matters " in April , which became a top 20 UK hit. Morris, Davies and Mayland met in in London before starting university and decided to form a band after frequently attending gigs together at The Windmill , feeling inspired by being part of an important scene after watching bands such as Black Midi and HMLTD. The band initially struggled to find time to rehearse together because of the COVID lockdown in the UK , and they did not perform live until their first gig at The George in London in November After signing with Island Records as 'the Last Dinner Party' to avoid confusion with the jazz supergroup Dinner Party , [4] they released their debut single "Nothing Matters", which was produced by James Ford , on 19 April They released their second single "Sinner" on 30 June , [13] and their third single "My Lady of Mercy" on 9 October , both of which were also produced by James Ford.

According to the Official Charts, it shifted 32, chart units, a measure than combines sales and streams. The quintet celebrated with a one-word statement conveying their disbelief, which is unprintable on the BBC. The band formed four years ago at university, and built up a large live following before releasing their debut single, the baroque pop anthem Nothing Matters, last year. Abigail will have its world premiere at the Overlook Film Festival on April 7, , and is scheduled to be released by Universal Pictures on April 19, The project was stated to be a modern-day adaptation of one of the Universal Classic Monsters characters similar in approach to The Invisible Man or Renfield , with the synopsis being described as "a unique take on legendary monster lore and will represent a fresh, new direction for how to celebrate classic characters". Originally intended to be Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett's next project following the release of the fifth Scream installment, the duo delayed its realization until after Scream VI. The project was later stated to have originally been titled the same as the source it's based on , Dracula's Daughter ; [5] while Universal restated that while they had considered a singular continuity with The Mummy , each release will continue to be "rooted in the horror genre, with no restrictions on budget, rating or genre. They are not part of a shared interconnected universe, which allows each film to stand on its own.
