Beth Greene is far from a fan favourite character, but there's no denying she was on the road to becoming one of the show's most interesting and complex characters. She'd formed a bond with Daryl, confronted her fears about the world, and was then held hostage at Grady Memorial Hospital, where she had to fend for herself. The Grady episodes are lacklustre at best, but Beth's growth was actually quite good, and great to see considering how long she'd been on the show. It's hard to say Beth's death was anything more than a ploy to beat Daryl and Maggie down to new depths rather than effectively progress the narrative, and given how far she'd come and how much more she had left to show, it's infuriating that she wasn't allowed to stick around a little bit longer.
