I do get lots of cough syrup Is it called something else over here as the recipe is american? They use it a lot in America because they have a glut of corn. It's basically thick, sugary corn juice. Highly recommend you use something else. It's high in fructose, industrially processed, flavour free sweetener. I'm not convinced it's safe I'd use golden syrup or make your own syrup with water and sugar. You can use Karo syrup available in some tescos. However Corn syrup has been linked with obesity.
