But one thing is clear, is the deadliest season ever, and some routine mountaineering practices are broken. Nepal issued a record climbing permits to foreigners. Add in one and a half Sherpa support for each foreigner; over 1, people pursued the summit this spring. Fears were rampant of a repeat with long lines and deaths. The lines never developed, thanks in part to colder weather that sent a higher number of climbers home in mid-season, many with a persistent virus. Thirteen deaths are confirmed, and four remain missing.

My first trip to Nepal and the Khumbu. A group of Indians claimed they reached the top of the peak, but they may not have made it past Camp III. One of the tougher Colorado 14er requiring Class 4 rock climbing to the summit. I rock and ice climb as skills training for my alpine routes but never lead. This was a trip for me to learn more about technical climbing on rock and ice. Tabeguache Peak 14,' - 43m. An easy 14er but the Chicago Lakes route is challenging. Trip Report, pictures, video. Not one of the official 54 but a nice easy climb in the Elk range and still a 14er! Pictures , FAQ.

Alan Arnette has been reporting on his own mountain climbs and others since

Instead, he sat alone at 24, feet for more than 40 hours. Had a little snow, rain, hot and cold! I have climbed well above meters over ten times and Everest four times summiting on May 21, Every effort results in lessons and I was able to forward the message of hope, need and urgency for an Alzheimer's cure during my climb. A veteran climber is dead, another is missing, and multiple others are lucky to be alive after a tragic few days in the Himalayas. A wonderfully satisfying climb! This was my last climb on The Road Back to Mt. It was a fabulous trip that I never anticipated making when I starting climbing seven years earlier. I had no idea what I was flying into. My climbs are self funded by making climbing a priority for our family budget. Alan Arnette Published Apr 18, Castle Peak 14,', m.
