When he and the other letters grew up, Q continued trying to catch up to the others when they were battling F.

He is one of 7 characters not used to make a word. He would constantly follow the heroes around for an undisclosed reason, until it was revealed that he formerly held the question mark "? As a child, Q was a lonely individual. Q decided to swallow the? Q then saw the future and what would happen to the rest between F and the letters, Q then tried to tell everybody as a warning, but due to his speed, he wasn't able to catch up and was ignored by the rest. As an adult, Q arived immediatly warns everyone by claiming that N lost his gem, and when F became a killing machine , Q chased down many of the letters to tell them about the deception but was unable to. Q arrives from behind them, finally catching up, with the cause already being done. Before the rewind, Q bestows the question mark to N to ensure he remembers what will happen.
