The knook is the most powerful piece in a game of chess. It can move any number of squares horizontally or vertically, or twice in one direction and once in a perpendicular direction, combining the abilities of the rook and the horsey. The knook is the most attractive chess piece. Like the rook, the knook's body is composed of a tall and smooth tower with a crown-like turret on top. It has a horse's head protruding from the side, similar in appearance to that of the horsey, and often equipped with sunglasses and a confident smirk. Due to its powerful design, the knook is not placed on the board at the start of the game. However, you can acquire a knook by various means during the game. The most common way to place a knook is by pawn promotion. When a pawn reaches the first or eighth rank, it can be promoted into a knook, although the promoting player also has the option to strategically underpromote into a lesser piece such as the queen. In addition to promotion, a knook can be created by rook-horsey fusion by moving both pieces to the same square.
