Prime location looks fabulous, the Anglers Tavern stands imperiously alongside the mighty Maribyrnong river and covers a vast area. Downstairs, all new and modern with glistening polished timber aplenty, has two main areas- bistro and TAB no pokies with a wonderful bar servicing both areas. Grab a seat alongside the window when dining and enjoy the serenity of the river. The pub triumphs at the rear with its massive and new beer garden and maximises the views. Plenty of space, smart and comfortable, the time spent there will evaporate. On weekends the pub really goes into overdrive attracting people from near and far. Pricing is about right. Beer runs a familiar line of Carlton products but in an area so large, the draught from the tap 5. The resurgent late Summer that Melbourne is enjoying gives that extra reason to go to a pub and enjoy the rays before the chill kicks in. But the woman who served me at the bar was super friendly and it honestly made up for wait time. Love sitting by the Maribyrnong river watching the world go by.. The deck is spacious and welcoming. We had table service. Live music on weekends and big parking lot. Ordered drinks from the bar. The food was delicious and plenty to go around. Love the renovations and great tasty food Good overall experience. Our wedges came out cold. The food is better than your average pub food too and there is even Little Creatures and Stone and Wood on tap.

I always come here with my family and friends. We love their food. I noticed they have a new menu, which is a great selection.

The thing that will let this place down is there focus on rules ie not allowing people from functions to go to the bar and then back to the function room after a certain time, even though the bar is still bustling. Nice place. Food was ok but the dining area was too cold. Great layout and vibe, right next to the Maribyrnong River. I went to trivia here with Josh and his workmates and they were nice and the parmigiana we got was nice too and it was big and it made my tummy big hehe. Excellent outdoor riverside dining, drinking etc. Will definitely come again. The steak portions look far too small for the amount you pay. Other than that, service was quick, but they were very insistent that we leave after our allotted 2 hours. Steak, not so much.
