Cameras that were recording to the cloud were recording as of am EST December 23rd but are no longer showing up either. A similar issue was experienced earlier this month which was resolved, but seems to have crept back in. I also noticed that I don't have the option to restart my Base Station anymore from the app. I have a simple USB 3.
Arlo not recording to local storage
Arlo can do local storage with an Arlo hub. You put a USB stick in the back and the app can browse those or the cloud. Only certain hubs. I know the vmb is one model that this works on. You can do port forwarding and view clips remotely on the thumb drive that you have connected to the vmb, or wait until you get home and view them on your own network. How can you access them via port forwarding? In the hopes of being able to do this. I currently have an older Arlo hub that I have to delete and transfer the cameras to the new hub when it comes in the mail. The motion sensors still notify you of events and you can start a live stream of the camera while away. The cloud recordings have a thumbnail so you can find things quicker. I have 3 Arlo cams. Yeah but can I view them from the Arlo app or do I need to unplug the usb and throw it onto my laptop?
May I ask all the troubleshooting steps you have performed other than the Arlo app re-install? I understand that I can probably remove and resync all of my cameras 3 of themand it might work.

These have been working great for two years. As of this morning, the VMB base station is no longer recording any videos locally to the SD card. I reformatted the SD card through the app.

Direct Storage Access is an alternate storage option for those of you that are specifically looking for ways to access videos stored locally on the media cards on select Arlo SmartHubs. Instead of pulling out the micro SD card or USB storage and plugging it into your computer to view videos, Direct Storage Access gives you a simple way to directly view videos at the full resolution of your Arlo camera through your Arlo App over the local network. Please note that Direct Storage Access is not an Arlo Smart feature, but for many of you with Arlo Smart subscription, Direct Storage Access is an incremental storage solution to the existing experience with Arlo Smart. Point-to-Point Peace of Mind We know that some users who value security and privacy prefer to store their video recordings on-site versus on a third-party server in the cloud. As such, Direct Storage Access is architected to provide direct point-to-point access to locally stored videos ensuring that the videos are never passed through or processed by any intermediate server.

I already experienced this issue once but I could solve it by deleting and reinstalling the app and by restarting my phone. This time however, I was unsuccessful with those steps. Also rebooting my base station did not fix the problem. The cameras are working fine and all the settings seem to be alright but the local videos are just not shown in the library and two days ago everything was shown normally in the Arlo app. I did not change any setting. The change happened from one day to another without any reason.

There are two different flavours of local access. Again, I can't think of a logical reason for this besides purposely trying to inconvenience people who use local recordings. Have had Arlo for years and they keep getting worse and worse. That is what direct storage access is for. The first set lasted about 8 months and the cameras lost their connection capabilities, had warranty with Costco and exchanged the entire system including the base. Finally, I can view local recordings Only to run into an annoying attribute of local recordings. I bet the Arlo Pro 3 is recording but you don't know how to user it. Message 3 of I think the zone detection only works during the day. Visit Arlo Support. View products 2. Come out of the app don't remove it from memory. Message 11 of Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for. Sure enough it worked!

Have been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out for a few hours. Same problem happened to me today I think the problem is general and caused by a technical failure from the company. It looks like "Master" was not understanding " Aspirant", but I understand as I have the same problem. When the system mode is set to 'Armed' I get notifications, but no recording. System of no value now 1. No changes have been made to the existing functionality of local storage. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. Waited for camera to be connected. Wiped the uSD card, rebooted and reset the routers, but was unable to resolved the problem. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. Message 15 of But, during the past 3 years, I have been able to view video clips of "motion detected" from my cameras from the hubs SD card. In a dark area, the spotlight turns on for about 1 second and then stops. This is driving me crazy for 5 days now! The USB device might become permanently unusable.
Now all is clear, thanks for the help in this question.
