The first episode of Arrowverse cities Flash following Crisis on Infinite Earths revealed a map of Earth-Prime and offered a glimpse at how much things have changed in the new Arrowverse.

As the Arrowverse has introduced many Justice League heroes and villains over the years, several iconic cities from the DC Universe have also made the jump from page to screen. Since Arrow's beginning in , The CW has introduced an endless slew of DC Comics characters, either in their own shows or as supporting players in other heroes' projects. But whenever an iconic superhero like Superman, The Flash, Batman, or the Green Arrow is adapted to screen, it is not just their characters and costumes that come with them. Ever since DC Comics began, the comic publisher has created many fictional cities from which various heroes or villains operate. While most DC mediums include real-life places, given that most of these stories still take place in America, there are also the additions of the made-up cities.

The crossover event began on December 9, , with The Flash , continued on Arrow on December 10, and concluded on Supergirl on December John Deegan over his work at Arkham Asylum. The crossover was confirmed in May at The CW's upfront presentation, where the inclusion of Batwoman and Gotham City were revealed. Throughout August and September that year, casting for the crossover—including Ruby Rose as Batwoman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, and the announcement that Tyler Hoechlin would return to portray Superman —was revealed. While perhaps not truly infinite, the Arrowverse has been revealed to be far larger than previously imagined, thanks to Crisis on Infinite Earths. The crossover event has confirmed that many worlds created for other television series and movies based on DC Comics creations are all part of the same shared multiverse. The Arrowverse first came into being during season 2 of The Flash , as Barry Allen and his allies fought Zoom - a villainous speedster from the alternate reality of Earth As the season progressed, they fought many other villains from Earth-2 and joined forces with Jay Garrick - The Flash of Earth This paved the way for other Earths to be introduced, and for series like Supergirl to be established as part of the same shared multiverse. The Arrowverse has been a present part of popular culture for nearly seven years. Formed in that relatively brief span of time is a vast universe of characters, worlds, and intriguing events. In fact, the Arrowverse as we know it, in terms of its own chronology, dates back several thousand years. Their exposure essentially turns them into the reincarnating immortals, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, and Vandal Savage, respectively.
