Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is a main boss located in an optional underground region in Elden Ring. You can face him at the end of the Lake of Rot, located in Nokstella Eternal City , at the end of the Ainsel River - which can be accessed by progressing through Ranni the Witch's questline , or via a coffin in the Deeproot Depths. To reach Astel, you'll need to find a set of coffins at the edge of a waterfall of rot in the Grand Cloister at the end of the Lake of Rot. A hyper aggressive Malformed Star, Astel will likely take a number of attempts due to the sheer ferocity of its attacks, and the variety of moves it can perform. Entering the arena through the mist wall, Astel will likely open the fight with a giant beam that it summons between its mandibles. This attack, like many others that Astel uses, requires slightly delayed reactions to avoid.
Astel
Astel is a reoccurring boss in Elden Ring. A malformed star born in a flightless void far away [1] , composed of many-colored star debris. It has a vaguely insectoid body, comprised of multi-coloured orbs that form a tail akin to a scorpion's, with translucent wings and six limbs that end in human-like hands, with the front two possessing six digits each. It has a humanoid skull with large mandibles, and a large blue eye can be seen through a crack in the front of the skull. This is an optional boss, but is required to reach Moonlight Altar and achieve a certain ending. Elden Ring Wiki Explore. Bestiary Bosses. NPCs Shardbearers. Head Chest Arms Legs. I wouldn't compare this in hatred to other astel bosses like Godefroy, not even close, astel. We're shown in the game with Fallingstar Beasts and Malformed Astels that Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is not this wholly unique entity.
This strange alien lifeform is comprised of many-colored star debris which landed in the Lands Between long ago, and is found in the Grand Cloister. Astel destroyed one of the Eternal Cities and wiped out their sky. This is an optional boss, as players don't need to defeat it in order to advance in Elden Ring. However, it must be defeated to achieve a certain ending. Astel, Stars of Darkness is another version of this boss.

Once destroyed an Eternal City and took away their sky. A falling star of ill omen. From the Grand Cloister Site of Grace, head west until the path ends and carefully drop down the broken ledges to the floor below.
Astel
Elden Ring has many fascinating bosses in its densely packed world of the Lands Between, but none are quite as beautifully horrific as Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. This optional boss is located in the depths of the Grand Cloister and packs a punch. While not the most challenging boss in Elden Ring's catalog, it sure sits near the upper half of that list. Even as an optional boss, we suspect Astel will go down in history as one of FromSoftware's best boss encounters due to the atmosphere and aesthetic alone. It also helps that the fight's mechanics and challenge are tight and rewarding, which is really all you can ask for in these titles. While this is an optional boss in the grand scheme of things, it is a mandatory battle if you wish to continue Ranni's story.

The camera can't keep up eventhough I locked on. If caught in this vapour trail, you'll have enough time to escape if you roll in the appropriate direction out of the path of the trail. Blocking can also help. This one is way too far onto the latter end of the scale IMO. First try beat it. This happened on 1. The lack of obvious weaknesses is made up by how telegraphed the moves putting victory down to player skill rather than a particular build: rather than going for archery, I spewed rotten dragon breath in it's face a few times as it teleported near me. Astel clicks its mandibles and chomps down its target once or twice. It took me three tries and on the second I saw that black flame really takes chunks out of him while regular fire doesn't. Spend your runes before fighting this boss, if your spirit summons does what mine did here you'll be fighting Astel solo while they slowly walk the perimeter of the boss arena. This attack has an obvious windup and is very short ranged, dodge forward or run away. Still don't know why two different otherworldly godlike aliens would look exactly the same, but I guess I shouldn't expect that much from this game. I powerstanced Blasphemous Blade on NG1 and it took me like 20 tries.
Astel is quite unique from other major bosses in the Lands Between as she has an entire portion of the world map sectioned off just for her boss battle. Her cosmic lair is gorgeously designed and serves as the sole passageway to the Deep Ainsel Well , which holds the lift to the Moonlight Altar in South Liurnia. After crossing the vast swamp of liquid rot and reaching the Grand Cloister temple, Elden Ring players can ride the coffin transit to Astel's lair below.
Not an easy fight, but absolutely fun. Really wish they didn't reuse Astel, such an awesome boss fight when you fight him during Ranni's questline. Reverse Gravity Astel begins charging up, and after a few seconds it will lift the player into the air before slamming them down violently. Nothing crazy. I only do melee builds and had a tough time with this guy on my first play through. After a few seconds, everything in that circle will begin levitating before Astel slams it back down to the ground. Tip for melee users: stay around the tips of his mandibles to bait his biting attacks. Decided to use Banished Knight Oleg who kind acted curious and decided to start casually attacking only after I got in a quarter DMG on it. In some "this vs Bosses" videos it kinda looks like as if his "Tail" is a huge weak spot. This happened on 1. Beat this guy at lvl Was struggling. So, I just beat this guy with pure melee, no summons, no spells, no ashes of war.
Just that is necessary. Together we can come to a right answer. I am assured.
Yes, really. All above told the truth. We can communicate on this theme.
