Rebuilding a front strut, easy job! Thread Tools. Likes: 3. Received 43 Likes on 29 Posts. Well, I guess it took 5 months to get around to it, but I thought I'd finally write this one up. Anyway, the rebuild was very easy and only added around 30 minutes to the strut swap. There was a couple things I also needed on top of the usual strut removal tools. So after putting the car in jack mode, taking off the tire, removing the air line, the pinch bolt, the sway bar link bolt, and the bottom strut bolt, the steps begin to differ. Remove the rubber boots on top of the strut, so that you can see the wires go into the top of the dampener, as seen below.

I also got a set of the emerald struts that open the boot fully when u use the key fob but I found they put the bottom of the boot out of place as there must be to much pressure in the struts.
