My guess is that it's due to the short period that the B6 spanned and the fact that I think at that time Audi still only manufactured one RS model at a time, which then would have been the C5 RS6. The RS ethos back in the day was 1 model at a time, limited production and at the end of the model life. As above, plus they usually wait until nearer the end of a chassis' shelf life to release the RS.
