There are plenty of secrets hiding in the Moonrise Towers. The necromancer has a few secrets hidden away too, if you can get to them. Accessing it can be tricky, though. Head for the roots growing along the side of the Moonrise Towers from its front gate, located at X, Y Once inside, you can rummage around for a few goodies, including a very important item for a different side quest. So on the westward wall, where there are several protruding books, pick the top-right option and a container nearby will open.
