Updated March 29, by Nathan Dawber: With Bannerlord being out for some time now, players have gained plenty of combat experience in the world of Calradia, forming kingdoms, conquering the map, and forging a dynasty that will last a thousand years. Unlike their Jawwal Bedouin cousins , Ghulam units have decent armor and can usually take a couple of hits before going down. Their weakness is their offensive stats — with only Polearm skill and 90 One-Handed skill, and some pretty average weaponry, their killing power is rather lackluster compared to other tier 4 mounted units. If looking for a solid anti-cavalry unit, the Sturgian Heavy Spearman is one of the better choices. They wield a steel spear , which can be braced to deal devastating damage to incoming charges. Unlike other polearm infantry, they also carry a shield, which is a blessing when going up against archers and infantry in close-quarters combat. While they may not be the most effective anti-cav troop in the game, these footmen will get the job done and are particularly effective when fighting the powerful horse archers of the Khuzait. They actually have 10 more Bow skill at than their Khuzait counterpart, but lose 10 Riding to their nomad cousin and are far less armored. They also suffer from a reduced arrow count and slightly reduced damage. Entirely living up to their name, Heroic Line Breakers are designed to crush and pummel the enemy infantry into submission. Their two-handed axes are devastating in melee and can reduce a shield to splinters in a matter of moments. Unfortunately, Heroic Line Breakers have some disappointing armor stats, with their Sturgian tier 5 counterparts all clad in significantly stronger gear.
You just rush at them, and bannerlord best infantry em. Even better, their Glaive is a decent weapon to change into once they're out of arrows and can transform the Khan's Guard into decent shock troops. Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

Some thoughts and data on how each top tier troop performs and how well they stand among their peers, and how forces of each faction play from version 1. If you have feedback of your own gameplay experiences, feel free to share and discuss. The guide is based on early access version 1. Reader discretion is advised, especially when thinking of very large battles involving banners and multiple routs.

In addition to large armies and good party compositions, another deciding factor in winning offensive and defensive siege battles is having a skilled engineer. Engineering is one of the hardest skills to level up, and it makes sense to relegate the role to a companion who already has some training in it. Either way, these perks might be unfamiliar to players who haven't invested in this skill before, and discussing their strengths can help you make better choices in this skill tree. The first perk in the engineering tree increases the speed at which you build your siege engines, with Scaffolds increasing the speed at which you build battering rams and siege towers, and Torsion Engines doing the same for your ranged siege engines. While ranged siege engines such as trebuchets are potent tools in long siege battles, the extra speed doesn't benefit you that much if you have the time to build those engines safely. But if you are in a rush to complete the siege, battering rams and siege towers are crucial to winning sieges quickly.

Unlike the javelin, the axe hits much harder, and thanks to this unit's throwing ability, they can be incredibly accurate and effective. The Bucellari aren't as good as the Khan's Guard. Put simply, deploy a line of these troops and watch them annihilate anything and everything standing in their way. The Elite Menavliation also performs well in combat with other infantry, something many anti-cavalry units struggle with. Updated on October 8, by Chris Harding : This list was updated to include a video featured below. In sieges, they may suffer due to their lack of leg armor but will more than make up for it after gaining entry to the fortress. While the Legionary doesn't excel at any particular thing, it is a perfect option for filling out an army for wartime. It was always pretty good anyway, but with the bonus damage to shields for thrown weapons, the Pila is even better. While many infantry units are available for use, this list was expanded to show players more viable options for their frontline. How ironic because that's how I feel about cav. Of course, as mounted ranged units this isn't massively important as they'll often be further from the fight, but it is something to keep in mind the next time you're considering your army composition.
In combat, I've used Vlandian Sergeants to hold the line while archers shoot from behind, successfully forming a defensive wall that adversaries find impossible to breach. Some players have even utilized them to charge into opposing lines to break formations and cause chaos. When faced with weakly armored forces, such as archers or other ranged units, their efficiency comes through.
First, they have an extra 20 skill in One-Handed, giving them the edge in close-quarters fighting like sieges. The swinging attacks of the voulge also make this weapon perfect for fighting from a safe distance against almost all one-handed fighters. The lance deals incredible damage and can kill even heavily armored troops in a single blow. The problem with this is after your 20th battle. These guys are tough to kill and perform well in almost every battlefield situation, making them a superb pick for main-line infantry. After the initial charge, their one-handed sword is only decent, and these troops may lose against other melee high-tier units. You'll need to be on top of hiring replacements after each battle but also use this opportunity to hire and train troops that will survive what killed the previous ones. Having such a strong archer line in the back requires your infantry in the front keeping the enemy away. They have skill in one-handed attacks and a strong polearm skill to hold off cavalry units. As to fians.. Different infantry units have their strengths and weaknesses, so it's important to choose the right ones for your army composition and battle strategy. But same tiers?
I congratulate, what necessary words..., a magnificent idea
