It got out of hand quickly. Buying useless junk numbed the pain but only for a short while. I actually started a few years prior and ended up having a few false starts. That BMW had to go. It was taking up so much of my time and money to keep on the road. It was like a screaming child, always wanting something.

The ad found me on Facebook. Perhaps it was also the other way round. It became one of my highlights in the Covid year What grows slowly gets easily overlooked. The course was different than books with the same title. It started with the question why we enrolled for the course. Some want to get out of consumer debts. There are often also positive reasons. Some want to spend more times with their kids. Some want to live in a more relaxed house without all the stuff. I sometimes skipped the yoga practice because I had so much to do. Soon I realized that all these things that I have keep me from practicing yoga.

It was like a screaming child, always wanting something. I did the numbers and no matter what, becoming minimalist, even losing a bit of money on it still made sense. Any time that a debilitating thought crosses becoming minimalist mind, always correct it with new thought that uplifts, encourages and empowers you.

Social media offers some wonderful benefits. It allows us to stay connected with friends, remain informed, and even make a difference in the world as an example, in many ways, the reach of this website has grown significantly because of social media. That being said, social can also become a significant source of distraction and overwhelm. There is also tons of research of the potential downsides of it. One of the core benefits of minimalism is added intentionality in how we spend our time and money.

Minimalism is an increasingly popular lifestyle geared toward the simplification of our everyday lives, and its implications can be as broad or as specific as you prefer. One of the primary steps people take as they begin gravitating toward minimalism is to get rid of unnecessary items in their homes. Most of us would be shocked at how much stuff we accumulate simply by living somewhere for a few years or more.
