By proceeding, you agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Few if any hotels in Sorrento offer more spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples than the Belair, which is built right into the side of a cliff about a half-mile from the Cathedral of Sorrento and was recently recognized as a 5-star hotel. Hotel Belair is not especially upscale, but it does have the elegant feel of an Italian property of yesteryear. Rooms have all been renovated, but nearly all have balconies with gulf views. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the outdoor infinity pool and sun terrace offer up more gulf views. The restaurant serves fairly typical Mediterranean and Sorrentine cuisine and offers outdoor dining. To start the evening with an aperitivo with a view there is the wonderful Roof Bar Oblivion with cocktails and finger food selections. The offer of services is enriched by a small gym with a view of Vesuvius and a private promenade to access the beaches of the old fishing village of Marina Grande. Guests also have access to the spa facilities hot tub, steam bath, massage services, and beauty treatments at a nearby sister hotel. This 5-star hotel is housed in a three-floor tiered Mediterranean-style building of light yellow and white, the Belair has a cliffside location that showcases views of the Gulf of Naples from its pool deck, restaurant terrace, and many of its rooms. The outdoor pool gets a lot of direct sunlight, so it produces a sparkling blue color for a dramatic effect. The surrounding gardens provide shelter, shade, and pleasant seating. One area on the cliffside has a fresco painted on the rock. Most of the rooms are rather simple in their decor, but the lobby and reception have an Old World feel, with chandeliers, a white piano, pale blue sofas, artwork, and antique cabinets. Some may find it evocative of La Dolce Vita -era Italy, while others may find the aesthetic a bit dated.
Certain services and amenities may be reduced or unavailable as a result.
The 5 star Hotel Belair is the dwelling that characterizes one of the most charming stretches of the Sorrento Coast. Perched delicately on the rocks, followed by the path to the sea. The bay of Naples reveals itself to the eyes of our guests who, from the panoramic terraces and from the rooms and suites, can admire the romantic scenery rich of bright colours as bewitchting as a potion. The Belair, slightly leaning over the sea, creates the evocative sensation of floating over the blue stretch that confuses sea and sky at the horizon to remain a treasure in the eyes of those experiencing it. At night, when the sea is left dazed by the sun and the coast lights up dotted by lights, the ambience becomes magical and you get the feeling of truly being in a unique place. The spaces of the hotel have a strong identity, embellished with original and modern furnishings that coexist harmoniously with design accessories.
