I had the pleasure 20 years ago while whale watching off the coast of Orange County, California of encountering 2 wild orcas. Founded in by Milton C. Everything reversed and finger points towards human just like the tag says: Never capture what you can't control. Just mentioning it and moving on makes it look like it was gotten away with, never addressed looking back etc. Greetings again from the darkness. It all began from his capture in on the coast of Iceland, then brought back to the United States to train. In the latter we were shown the tragic consequences of people deciding to bring a chimpanzee up as a human. Even though it is a documentary, Blackfish is still no doubt one of the top films of Though I have only seen parts of the Cove the Dolphin part to be exact , those movies are really getting to you. It all very much plays out like a Killer Whale version of the triangular trade.
They aim to document abuse and inspire reform. Where 's "The Cove" exposed the theme park chain's role in dolphin kidnapping, abuse and slaughter, "Blackfish" does the same with orcas. It uses Sea World trainer Dawn Brancheau's death in a killer whale tank as a springboard for a tale of decades-long corporate conspiracy.

Clip Needless to say, SeaWorld refused to be interviewed for this documentary. But, since this was the time before the internet, they quickly wrote most things off as "accidents" and faulted the trainer more so than the animal. Would you develop severe mental problems as the years go by and you realize you'll never get out into freedom again? Snubbed from the Oscars and I felt really bad for that. The ending, however, was on a much more positive note as we see the former trainers meet and enter wildlife where they encounter orcas that don't live in captivity and don't have that depressingly folded dorsal fin which is so common for Orcas held in captivity and could maybe seen as an equivalent to self-mutilation for humans suffering from depression. Self - Killer Whale archive footage John Hargrove In Dawn Brancheau's case, they blamed her ponytail.
The authoritative point of view, curiously..
Excuse, not in that section.....
