Boarding school juliet episode 3
We lay our scene in the fair Dahlia Academy, where two countries, both alike in dignity, come together; the "Black Doggies" of the Eastern Nation of Touwa and "White Cats" of the Principality of West have a longstanding feud. Romio Inuzuka and Juliet Persia, leaders of their respective dorms, seem to be bitter enemies.
Romio and Juliet's clandestine romance was bound to be discovered eventually, but I figured it would take more than just a few weeks for someone to weasel their way into the action. Knowing that all of Juliet's work would be undone if their secret were found out, Romio begrudgingly accepts the role of Princess Char's lapdog, forced to answer her every beck and call lest she spill her guts to the White Cats and the Black Doggies. Char is an excellent character to toss into the Boarding School Juliet mix; equal parts devious and dignified, she at first embodies the perfect example of a character type that will undoubtedly make certain fans very happy. She's pompous, pretty, wears a cat-ear tiara, and at multiple points throughout the episode she quite literally stretches out her legs to step on poor Romio's head — that's when she isn't riding him sidesaddle like a trained pony, of course. Though she's playing to an obvious character type, her theatrical antagonism is a great ingredient to add to the current cast mix, working as an appropriately over-the-top antagonist while still staying well within that comfortable realm of anime camp. There aren't any thugs attacking Juliet in the park this week, and thank goodness for that.
Boarding school juliet episode 3
Romio is feeling a little down because he thinks that he isn't good enough for Juliet, while Princess Char is feeling a little neglected and underappreciated by her own country. The two of them find solace in each other's company and start getting closer. But as they get more familiar with each other, they start to realize that they have more in common than they thought. They both have their own responsibilities — Romio has to protect his school and Juliet, while Princess Char has to fulfill her duties as a royal. And they both feel like they're sometimes trapped by the expectations placed on them. As they continue to bond, Princess Char starts to see a different side of Romio. She realizes that he's more than just a brash and impulsive guy — he's intelligent, caring, and fiercely loyal. And Romio starts to see Princess Char as more than just a stuck-up princess — she's kind, thoughtful, and genuinely wants to do what's best for her people. Their newfound understanding of each other leads to a moment of vulnerability, where they open up about their fears and worries. Princess Char admits that she feels like she's not good enough to be a leader, while Romio admits that he's scared of losing Juliet. It's a touching moment that shows how much they both trust and respect each other. But their newfound understanding comes to an abrupt halt when they're caught by their classmates.

Given the title, you'd expect this story to focus more on Juliet's fight for the title of MVP, and that's true up to a point, but Aby and Somali's underhanded scheming eventually forces Romio to take the spotlight when the drama really heats up. Dramatically speaking, this outing is significantly more satisfying than last week's episode, though it still suffers from some of the writing and aesthetic issues that have bogged down some of Boarding School Juliet 's middle episodes. Romio and Juliet are supportive of one another, but their fierce rivalry hasn't gone anywhere, so both promise to have the Cats and the Doggies give it their all in the sports festival competitions. Romio, big dork that he is, wants to win the prize so he can make Juliet finally call him by his first name. Juliet, on the other hand, feels like the prestige would bring her one step closer to achieving the power and recognition she would need to truly reform her society's failings. The teams compete in relay races, tug-of-war, balloon-popping competitions and more, but unfortunately, they're all either barely animated or covered in brief montages, which drains the episode's potential fun factor. Weirdly, even Romio's moment of redemption where he wins the boys' track competition is brushed over, which feels anticlimactic after how much of last episode was devoted to establishing that plot point.

Going into Boarding School Juliet 's final episode, I was wondering just how the show was going to handle the inevitable convergence of the Great Pie War, Romio and Juliet's secret rendezvous, and big brother Airu's suspicions of Romio's romantic subterfuge. This not only ties nicely into Shakespeare's source material, which uses violent stabbings to capstone most of its major plot points, but it gives the entire story a thrilling conclusion that also sets up some interesting paths for a potential second season.
