Boruto possession
One of Boruto 's major storylines thus far has been the new power of Karma.
Initially nonchalant in his duties as a member of Team 7 and resentful of his father and the office of Hokage because it left him with no time for his family; Boruto eventually comes to respect and reconcile with his father and his role as Hokage, yet vows to become like his mentor Sasuke Uchiha — a support system for the Hokage and the village. On the day that Naruto was to be inaugurated as the Seventh Hokage , his sister Himawari wanted to bring her panda toy to the ceremony. However, Boruto feared that he would end up carrying it, so he tried to take it away from her. When the toy's head was ripped off in the ensuing tug-of-war, Himawari awakened her Byakugan and attacked Boruto in her anger, despite his vehement apologies. Sensing her killing intent, Naruto protected Boruto and was knocked out in the process due to the attack landing on one of his chakra points. Fearful of what an attack that could knock out his father would do to him, Boruto tried to run from Himawari, although she easily located him hiding in a closet.

As the Boruto series unfolds, Naruto's son is finding himself in a world of trouble. Code is waging war on Konoha, while Eida is on the inside as a defector they're struggling to trust. Throw in her little brother, Daemon, as a weapon of mass destruction, and the Hidden Leaf is simply in the most precarious of spots. This is why Shikamaru's trying to formulate a new plan, sensing that Amado is not telling the truth. Admittedly, it doesn't help that Naruto is de-powered without Kurama and Sasuke has lost his Rinnegan. In the midst of all this, however, the kicker is they can't really rely on Boruto due to a major handicap he's got in terms of his powers. Coincidentally, Mark Millar's The Magic Order just wrapped its third volume and nods to this similar arc, using it to create a new yet familiar tyrant. However, Momoshiki placed a Karma mark on the boy and in time, he'd try to use it to rewrite the kid's DNA. This would make Boruto a host, allowing Momoshiki to be fully reborn once the process was complete. Thankfully Kawaki stopped it, but while Momoshiki repairing Boruto's body means he can only appear in the teen's consciousness, fans are still wary. He could find a way to possess Boruto again, or due to the Karma's unknown nature, figure out a method to restart the process and be resurrected. Either way, Momoshiki's still a part of Boruto , using him as a vessel to live on after death. It continues Shibai's ways of these aliens remaining immortal and looking to conquer world after world. The Magic Order deploys a similar creative direction with young Rosie, who was manifesting a lot of power as a mage. So much so that Sanchez tried to kill her, thinking she was a destroyer who'd bring about the apocalypse.
Episode 27 Absent Code attempted to use Kawaki as a hostage, as Boruto possession also needed him as a sacrifice, but Momoshiki separated the two with his Spiralling Bullet.
He then attempted to cultivate a new one out of the chakra of the Nine-Tails sealed within the Seventh Hokage. Momoshiki is typically calm, collected, and calculating. However, he has been prone to demonstrate sadistic tendencies, which was shown during his and Kinshiki 's attack on Konohagakure , where he laughed after seeing distressed citizens while firing his elemental attacks. Momoshiki also has a severe superiority complex and thought very lowly of people other than himself, calling humans "lowly beings". Likewise, he is also even unsociable amongst his fellow clansmen such as Isshiki , [3] Urashiki, and even his own foster father Kinshiki. He is also like this towards the members of Kara , but will temporarily team up with them if it helps him achieve his goals. As with Isshiki, Momoshiki is determined to harvest a chakra fruit at all cost, as he decided to use Kawaki as a sacrifice for the Ten-Tails to bloom into a God Tree, even though this would result in the fruit's decreased quality, to the point that he would absorb chakra to prevent Kawaki from committing suicide even if risking Boruto regaining control of his body.
After the latest chapter of Boruto , who's the real villain in the opening flashforward? While some Naruto fans were skeptical about a sequel series starring the offspring of the original cast, Boruto made a blistering first impression, flashing ahead to a dystopian future where Konoha Village is destroyed. Boruto Uzumaki is doing battle with Kawaki on the stone faces of previous Hokage, with the latter declaring the age of shinobi is over, and promising to send Boruto where he " sent the Seventh Hokage. Every part of the scene screams that Boruto is the hero, and Kawaki is the villain. Alas, that's not where Boruto finds itself in chapter

Boruto 's second part has had an explosive start, and its subtitle, Two Blue Vortex, strongly suggests that Boruto's dojutsu Jougan will play a significant role in what comes to pass. While the young ninja's powerful technique hasn't been explored fully yet, all signs point to it being important for the series going forward. One of the common abilities of the most powerful individuals in the Naruto franchise is dojutsu, a potent chakra-fueled ocular ability that gives the possessor a range of skills from being able to instantly memorize any technique they see to trapping the whole world in an illusion. Originally passed on to humanity by Kayuga Otsutsuki through her sons Hagoromo and Hamura, a dojutsu tends to be hereditary but can be transplanted into someone who does not have the genetic aptitude for it. The most famous dojutsu in the franchise are the Sharingan of the Uchiha clan , the Byakugan of the Hyuga, and the Rinnegan that descends from Hagoromo himself. Jougan is a dojutsu that debuted in the Boruto anime and has since made its way into the manga too. Jougan, also known as the "Pure Eye", presents itself as a featureless eyeball with no or little difference in color between the iris and the pupil, depicted as being light blue and when activated displaying a lighting-like energy pulse effect.

The flash-forward with Kawaki and Boruto fighting in a decimated Konoha hinted as much. Given Momoshiki was also inside Boruto's body, trying to possess the teenager, it definitely felt like enthusiasts had more questions than answers. It made sense, given how vague the series was about what would happen down the line.
Finding that possibility interesting, Momoshiki ordered Kinshiki to prepare to depart, hoping that Kaguya's world would have an abundance of chakra worthy of being consumed. Chapter 66 Absent Episode 28 Absent But when Boruto left home, Momoshiki's spirit appeared and taunted him. He even pointed out to Momoshiki he didn't see himself as losing everything, stressing his own ancestry. Boruto remarks afterward that Naruto's brief words could have been put in an email, but he is nevertheless moved to tears by his father coming to see him. Chapter 8.
