Brainiac is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, brainiac new 52. He has since endured as one of Superman and the Justice League 's greatest enemies.
DC's New 52 was designed to tell new stories in the DC Universe, to take familiar characters in exciting new directions — this included one of the most memorable additions to Superman lore, a storyline that saw him gain the powers of both the villains Brainiac and Doomsday. The result was a Superman that was more powerful than any character seen before, or since. As seen in the sprawling Superman: Doomed storyline from — written across several titles by Grek Pak, Charles Soule, Scott Lobdell, and Tony Bedard — this "Superdoom-Brainiac" had the potential to be the most truly unstoppable force the DC Universe has ever imagined, combining Superman's Kryptonian power set with the raw force of Doomsday and the super intelligence of Brainiac, two of the character's most iconic villains. Superman's transformation in the Superman: Doomed occurred during a brutal fight, in which Superman managed to tear Doomsday in half. In the process, Superman was infected with a virus contained in Doomsday's body, which increased Superman's aggression, transforming the Man of Steel into the monstrous Superdoom. As Superman sought a cure, Brainiac attacked the Earth.

Vril Dox was a brilliant Coluan scientist. At some point, he cloned himself to get a lab assistant; the clone would later be called Vril Dox II. He acquired a spaceship and went on a journey through space, acquiring knowledge and using his robotic drones to capture living organisms of various alien species. Along the way, he came to the planet Krypton some time during the lifetime of General Zod , and kidnapped the entire city of Kandor , miniaturizing it in his spaceship for preservation and study. He also created a remote scout unit, which was programmed to think it was the original Vril Dox. The remote scout unit came to Earth as a cloud of nanotechnological robots, and took over the body of sideshow mentalist Milton Fine , who worked under the alias "Brainiac". Needing cranial fluid to maintain his possession of Fine, Dox went on a murder spree. He discovered Fine had genuine psychic powers, which he frequently used on Superman. Brainiac was later captured by Lex Luthor , but used his powers to wrest control of Lexcorp away from him. Under his mental domination, Lexcorp scientists recreated his Coluan form. The diodes in his head now increased and stabilized his mental powers, as well as allowing him direct access to computer banks. He continued to plague Superman, using a combination of mental powers and computer control. On one occasion, he began to shrink cities.
He needs to be in the Man of Steel sequel, brainiac new 52. InBrainiac is able to take over the minds of several LexCorp staffers. Among these shrunken cities is Kandorthe capital of Superman's home planet Kryptonand Brainiac is even responsible for Krypton's destruction in some continuities.
Brainiac is an intergalactic collector of worlds, taking a city from each planet he visits and bottling it. On Yod-Colu , a great scientist named Vril Dox developed an advanced artificial intelligence named C. Using it, Dox dared to look further than anyone ever before, into the Fifth Dimension. However, he discovered what appeared to be a war, and forecast the destruction of his world and so many others by a force he christened "The Multitude". He tried various methods to stop this force, from experimenting on his son to petitioning the government.
His most well-known crime was the shrinking of the city of Kandor prior to Krypton 's destruction, and preserving it amongst a host of other cities from various planets aboard his spaceship. His original name was Vril Dox. Brainiac is usually depicted as a green humanoid, coming from the planet of Colu where all native inhabitants have green skin. In his original appearance, Brainiac was in fact a Coluan man; however, his origin and nature were soon retconned and changed, making him an android hailing from Colu. His origin is frequently reimagined for various Superman stories; but they almost always begin on the planet Colu. Many recent versions of his story, however, have given him an origin on Krypton. Brainiac is easily the most high-tech of Superman's foes. He uses advanced alien spacecraft and technology to combat Superman. In early appearances in the Silver Age comics, he had a purplish flying saucer. In the Legion of Superheroes comics and animated series, a version of brainiac known as Brainiac 5 is a promenent member of the team.

Zod is eager for a final showdown with Brainiac, who calls Zod a coward for confronting Brainiac with his powers intact and an army of super-powered Kryptonians at his back. The Brainiac God , although usually just referred to as Brainiac , was a powerful alien being that existed outside of space time, captaining its space station, the Blood Moon , in the Bleed. Collecting cities from dying universes and timelines, the Brainiac God was a malignant creature, although it was not without its benevolent attributes.
Retrieved July 28, Brainiac and Luthor attacked New Krypton, the former looking to steal the city back again. This caused the Omega Titans to be unleashed on the universe, the Omega Titans were ancient and benevolent beings which were supposed to break out of the Source Wall at the end of time and devour the universe. Brainiac is a bald, green-skinned humanoid who arrives on Earth and shrinks various cities, including Metropolis , storing them in bottles with the intent of using them to restore the then-unnamed planet he ruled. The Legion of Doom warped back to an unknown destination with the omniversal creator in tow. These cities will one day become the United Planets by the 31st century, the same planets that will produce the members of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Episode 2. Like the Pre- Crisis Brainiac, he is telepathically linked to his ship in such way that if separation of it without warning can disable him for a short period. O and on Krypton he was called Brainiac 1. Looking for the Twenty, he discovered that Lois Lane had mind powers now. After this, Brainiac shrinks Kandor again and re-bottles it, including a miniature red sun to de-power all the Kryptonians inside.
