They can be equipped at the character select screen. All skins come with two unique Weapon Skins. These are priced higher but can contain unique vanities, such as animated Weapon Skins, custom Signature FX or a dedicated roster spot. When a new Legend is released, that Legend will receive three skins. Legends can receive new skins with any update, with most skins releasing during Events and new Battle Passes.

Epic Skins are unique Skins that can be purchased from the Store with mammoth coins or earned as the final reward from a Battle Pass. Epic Skins are more expensive than regular skins typically to , but come with more vanities to make up for the price. Alongside Epic Skins are Mythic Skins. These are very similar to standard Epic Skins, but cost more and have extra features, such as costume changes when holding different weapons. Epic Skins will come with a certain amount of special vanities.

Weapon Skins are cosmetics that modify the appearance of weapons. A weapon skin can be equipped by any Legend that uses that weapon by selecting the weapon skin in the lobby. Weapon skins can be obtained in many ways; some can be purchased directly from the Store while others are included with the purchase of Legend Skins. Weapon skins are also available in the Battle Pass , certain DLC, and in some cases by following Brawlhalla social media. When selecting a weapon skin, pressing the "Toggle Favorite" button 1 on keyboard, R on controller will mark the currently selected weapon skin as one of your favorites. This will put a star next to their icon, and move their placement to the front of your weapon skin list.
