After taking a Viking River cruise inI never imagined I would ever give Viking a less than 5 star review but the recent Viking Cruise we took was just not good and left my husband and I feeling like British columbia cruise reviews should just stick to River Cruises.

Should have hustled to Vancouver rather than spend an extra day at sea due to a storm. This was a nice port, in a very interesting and beautiful city. We decided to spend a day here after getting off the boat. Should have spent more. Great shopping and eats. Spent time in the Gas Lamp area. There is a China Town area in this city also.

We opted to not do an excursion and go out in our own. Oak Bay is a nice little village with shops and eateries. Very friendly. We walked about 10 min to Oak Bay Marina. I highly recommend this especially if you have children. There was about 6 of them just waiting. They will do tricks like spin for you and splash you.
