New unused quality mixer tap.
From there I have another section of hose via a joiner, so I can move around the far end of the yard with a hose. Is it possible to install a new tap where the hose comes up from the ground 20meters away and have the pressure of the original tap always on, so it feeds the second tap? All of this via the standard garden hose and fittings. I'd rather not dig a long trench and put pressure pipe, due to obstacles, but is that the realistic option? Any tips on placing a new tap and being able to use it at will without going to the original would be much appreciated. Any new tape will reduce pressure from the other hoses if they are flowing at the same time, And a garden setting dosnt need a pressure hose unless that pump is a extra high pressure model.

I think the part that goes inside the tap is too big. Can I get a smaller one that will then work? Am I doing something wrong? Hi kymmieb82 ,. There are two sizes of garden taps, 20mm and 15mm. I believe the two different-sized assemblies not only have different-sized valves but also spindle bodies the copper part , so if the current copper part does screw in, something else might be going on here. Silly question, but I've seen it before, did you remove the old valve out of the tap before trying to install the new one? Another thing to try is to take the tap key and turn the spindle anti-clockwise like you were turning the tap on. That will retract the spindle. What might be happening is that it's turned too far out, and it's bottoming out before you can't screw the spindle body in fully.
