The Petrol engine is cc. It is available with Automatic transmission.
With horsepower on its spec sheet, you might assume that the Mercedes-AMG C43 was powered by a twin-turbo V-6, but it's actually got a fiery little turbo four with some cool tech cribbed from the Mercedes F1 racing program under its hood. An electric motor spins up the turbocharger to help reduce lag and a volt hybrid system gives an extra boost too. It doesn't have the same punch as the even more powerful C63 model , but the C43 represents a big step up in performance from the standard Benz-branded C sedan. The C43's suspension tune is aggressive, with a ride that's stiff, but a rear-wheel steering system and adaptive dampers all contribute to the car's agility. Inside, the C43 is just as premium as the C but wears a racier wardrobe, including carbon fiber trim, sport seats, and upholstery with boldly colored contrast stitching. A big portrait-oriented infotainment screen provides access to the digital world and a host of driver-assistance features are on the roster too, making the C43 a sports sedan that can double as commuter transit, a family car, or a road-trip companion.

From the September issue of Car and Driver. Before anyone assembles an angry mob and breaks out the pitchforks in response to this latest example of engine downsizing—a twin-turbo V-6 displaced by a turbo four in the Mercedes-AMG C43 —know that we have been here before. Looking further back, Mercedes has even produced a four-cylinder performance derivative of one of the C43's direct descendants, the stylish E sedan, which got 2. But while the 2. So, it must be more than twice as good, right? The new engine effectively replaces the 3. It has lost cylinders and capacity but not power, using an advanced electrically assisted turbocharger to beat its predecessor's peak output although the maximum pound-feet of torque is lower. The turbo, built by Garrett Motion, uses a compact electric motor between the turbine and the compressor that acts directly on the shaft. It can add a claimed 6 kW of assistance and spin at speeds of up to , rpm. It can also harvest a small amount of energy from gas flow, although only fleetingly. More regen comes from a volt belt-integrated starter-generator that can also add modest levels of assistance at lower speeds. The turbo's e-motor allows boost to build even when exhaust gas isn't flowing, to help reduce response delay. In the C43's more aggressive dynamic modes, it will also keep the blades spinning when the throttle is lifted. It's essentially an electric version of the pop-bang anti-lag that makes rally cars sound like a shooting range. As in the brawnier AMG models, the nine-speed automatic gearbox uses a wet clutch rather than a torque converter to improve response.
The C43 has more power than the BMW c43 engine, but this downsized engine does feel like the answer to a question that hasn't yet been asked, at least on this side of the Atlantic.

The masterminds at Mercedes's AMG tuning arm have been set loose on the next-generation C-class and have created this all-new C43 sports sedan. This time around, the C43 makes do with two fewer cylinders and one less liter of engine displacement—but not less power—as AMG has swapped the old model's hp twin-turbo 3. All manner of performance-enhancing tech is available on the C43, including rear-wheel steering and adaptive dampers for the aggressively tuned suspension. The C43's interior is similar to the new Benz-branded C except, instead of looking like it attended finishing school, it appears to have graduated from a racing academy. Carbon-fiber trim covers most of the dashboard and the rest is faux-leather with contrasting stitching.

Mercedes-AMG is still in the early phases of its inevitable transition to full electrification. Fear not, though, because even with shrinking powertrains, the Mercedes go-fast department has no intention of slowing down. Case in point: the Mercedes-AMG C43 , which drops the twin-turbocharged V6 of the prior generation in favor of four-cylinder propulsion. And following that, the full-beans C63 will also get a fresh 2. For more on how Motor1.
