Calamity Ganon is known as a primal evil that has appeared throughout Hyrule's history. With this collaboration between the Sheikah and the Hylians, Ganon was sealed beneath Hyrule Castle where he laid dormant for many millennia.

It is well known that, compared to many of the previous games in the series, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes a unique approach to nearly all of its mechanics. From its open world design, to the infamous weapon durability system, this game takes great pains to stand apart from its predecessors. Because Nintendo chose this approach with Breath of the Wild , the game's main missions can be approached and completed in any order. This even applies to the final boss, Calamity Ganon, and how that fight can be approached. The fight with Calamity Ganon is approached like everything else in the game: at the player's leisure. Though many players won't experience this, if only because they are trained to expect boss fights to only be available at the end of a game, but Calamity Ganon can be fought the minute Link glides off the Great Plateau. While many players use this fact as a means to show off their incredible prowess, most of the fan base will benefit from taking the scenic route to the end. No matter when Link decides to face his nemesis, the fight will take place in the same location: Hyrule Castle. This, however, is inadvisable. Not only is Ganon considerably harder at this point, but the player will also be skipping the bulk of the experience.

Drops: None Locations : Hyrule Castle. Hyrule Compendium Otherwise, powerful elemental or ancient weapons can work well against him. On the ground, Calamity Ganon will usually alternate between swinging his fire axe to the sides or slamming it down, spreading flames as it does.
