In addition, it is the first university to create an initiative in student development not only focused on academics but socially as well. This paper is a qualitative phenomenological case study of AUC and its First Year Experience FYE program which supports the development of students and their transition into university. To gather qualitative data for this research, interviews were digitally recorded and then the researcher listened to the session multiple times to discern common themes, quotes and connections to the student development theory. The findings illustrated that the university is indeed working on enhancing its first year experience student development programs, but unfortunately each department supporting student development is working on its own instead of all of them working together since they share a common purpose.
