In , while wandering along the beautiful California coast, we discovered this farm. We knew we had to buy this piece of land when we saw our first two kids run in absolute joy up the hill, the same hill that our grandkids play on today. All these residents made their mark on the land and left it well cared for when we bought it from Catherine Steele. We then reforested a large portion of the land and, on the 20 remaining acres, planted Christmas trees, first Pine and later Fir orchards and gardens. We continued to expand and diversify the tree types and crops, noting what worked best in this particular climate and these soils. Along with our five children - and their partners, children, neighbors and friends - we tend these trees, orchards, and gardens. Our closest friends work with us here and they are the motley and amazing staff you will meet on the farm. The land has gone through many changes over the last 50 years. We have made many improvements and learned from our mistakes and successes over the years. For us, it is a joyful, ongoing process.
