The Rookie: Feds is an American police procedural crime drama television series and spin-off of The Rookie. The basic premise of the series and its characters were introduced through a two-episode backdoor pilot in The Rookie. Investigating severed human limbs taken from living bodies, the team determine that the limbs were removed by a rare industrial cutting tool. DNA analysis of the limbs reveals that the original victims were half-siblings; their father is Thomas Clay Briggs, a serial killer serving six life sentences, who donated sperm when he was a teenager. Although not in time to stop a third victim being claimed, the team identify the killer as Roman Griffith, one of Briggs' children, who has dealt with psychotic tendencies all his life and decided to kill his half-siblings on the chance that they have also inherited his father's tendencies.
