I used to have what I called a secret car park just off Herschel Street off North Quay which cost me five dollars to park for the night. If you got there a little early, which was the best time to soak in the atmosphere there were plenty of car parks and like I have said, very affordable and cheap for inner city evening parking. That place soon was to go and become a building with no car parks at all available unless you got onto their roof. It also had to be within walking distance to either the bus pickups for the games or if running late walking distance to the stadium. So there are two alternatives I use now, so depending on who is playing and also the time of arrival for us I choose either one or the other. This is the King George Square Car Park , both are obviously car parks in Brisbane City area and also a pretty close walk to the stadium too. I ended up parking in the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre car park, I looked online and the rates in the evening looked alright and it was closer to the stadium too. Also I noted that compared to State of Origin, there was around 26 thousand people there, so not as many as you would expect for a State of Origin game or, say, a World Cup Final. It certainly was a little less full and cramped going to and from the stadium to the car park compared to the above games. Getting back to the car I went to the car park pay station and to my horror it was a 72 dollar parking bill for just over 3 hours. So what was a relatively cheap night out, just got a little more expensive due to car parking in the city. My own fault though, I had miss read the website and also having a look the day after, I should of booked parking online as it would have been at least half of the cost. So, if you need to park in Brisbane City to go to the game at Suncorp Stadium make sure you book online when parking your car at the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre car park or it will cost you a small fortune.
