Some valve covers had a twist-in metal cap with 2 tabs to secure the cap in the valve cover. In later years, some engines had an "extension" tube which fit into the hole where a twist-in metal cap would go. Then the top end of the extension tube was made to accept the twist-in metal cap. One of these extension tubes may be a possible option. NO, I do not have a picture of one, but someone here may. For the life of me I have never been able to figure out what determined if vehical got one. However, it does now have one.
Re: Valve Covers Those tall valve covers won't fit on the drivers side. One is newer fabricated valve covers, and the other are old Mr Gasket finned.

Apply a small amount of gasket glue to the backsides of the gaskets, as well as the mating surface if necessary. To insert the stud, lock the two nuts together and turn clockwise. Nothing is more annoying than the constant dribble of oil running down the back and sides of your motor due to leaking valve cover gaskets. Not only does it burn off the exhaust and smoke when driving, but it also makes a mess of your clean driveway at home. Sure, as long as you keep plenty of oil in the motor, there is no problem.

So I can push a funnel in and it opens up the baffle and also holds the funnel. Lay under the motor and inspect the freeze plugs from below. Otherwise it's not a breathing.
