Chick Hicks is the main antagonist of Pixar's 7th full-length animated feature film Cars and a minor character in its second sequel, Cars 3 , no longer being an antagonist, due to Jackson Storm taking his place. He is a cocky, self-centered retired Piston Cup racer. As a racer he was aggressive, often intentionally damaging or interfering with other cars in hopes of a better finish. He is well recognized for the hundreds of stickers that cover his body and the large grille that looks much like a mustache. His number is 86, and he was sponsored by HtB. In Cars , Chick is among the thirty-six race cars that are competing in the final race of the Piston Cup season at the Motor Speedway of the South. Shortly after, when Lightning McQueen overtakes him in the race, Chick pushes Lightning against the wall, causing him to spin into the field, in front of a group of RVs, who cheer Lightning on. McQueen recovers quickly, but Chick, determined to win, hits Winford Bradford Rutherford , which ultimately results in a giant crash consisting of everyone behind him except him, The King , and Lightning McQueen. Much to Chick's annoyance and surprise, Lightning manages to carefully maneuver through the array of out-of-control cars, which makes him the center of attention to the audience.

Chick "Thunder" Hicks , sometimes known as Chick Hicks , is the main antagonist of Cars and a minor character in Cars 3. He's been counting down the seasons to The King's retirement so that he can take over the coveted Dinoco sponsorship, but he never expected such fierce competition from hot shot rookie Lightning McQueen. Chick ties with The King and Lightning in the Piston Cup championship, forcing the three racers to compete in a tiebreaker race. Chick later mocks Lightning on winning the Piston Cup and sponsorship of Dinoco. Lightning retaliates by nicknaming Chick "Thunder" due to that thunder always comes after lightning, much to Chick's intense annoyance. He, however, later shows off with this new nickname after Lightning disappears in Radiator Springs, wooing his fans and stealing Lightning's. He makes numerous attempts to force Lightning out of the final race, only to be outrun by him in spite of it. King tries to prevent Chick from overtaking him, frustrating the latter. Refusing to finish behind King again, he intentionally sideswipes The King during the final lap, making him spin out of control and crash. When Lightning sees what has happened to The King, he stops before crossing the finish line and goes back to help The King across the line.
