Emmeryn is Chapter 9 of Fire Emblem Awakening. This chapter takes place in Plegia Castle Courtyard. The script for this chapter can be found here. Like the previous map , this chapter takes place on a heavily sand based map. You will need to pair up most of your units with either Sumia or Cordelia due to their huge movement range and freedom of terrain movement penalties.

At the start of the game, Emmeryn is the current Exalt of Ylisse and the older sister of Chrom and Lissa. She is described as kind and wise, and her talent at negotiating is often praised. During the war with Plegia , she attempts to negotiate peace with its king, Gangrel , but the attempt fails, turning into a battle where Chrom and the Shepherds have to defend against his forces, ending with a declaration of war. In Chapter 6 , an attempt is made to assassinate her, but is prevented thanks to "Marth" 's appearance. While Chrom moves toward Plegia in Chapter 7 , Ylisstol is attacked and Emmeryn is captured by the Plegian forces due to a betrayal from her longtime friend, the Hierarch. In Chrom's attempt to rescue his sister in Chapter 9 , he and the shepherds are cornered, and Gangrel demands to surrender the Fire Emblem in exchange for her life. Chrom agrees to Gangrel's conditions, but Emmeryn casts herself off the ledge voluntarily, begging the Plegians to turn away from the path of war.

Chrom is the main protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening. He is prince of the Halidom of Ylisse , and the brother of Lissa and Emmeryn. He is also the father of Lucina , a direct descendant of the First Exalt and a distant descendant of Marth the Hero King. Chrom wields the legendary Falchion as his main weapon. Chrom is the prince of the Halidom of Ylisse and the younger brother of Ylisse's current Exalt Emmeryn. He also has a younger sister Lissa and is retained by Frederick. As a symbol of this heritage, Chrom bears the Mark of the Exalt on his right shoulder and is deemed worthy to wield the divine blade Falchion. Though his sister advocates for peaceful means of dealing with tensions with their western neighbor of Plegia , Chrom formed a vigilante force of Ylissean warriors called the Shepherds to defend the country's borders. In a scene that seems to be a dream or a vision of an event to come, Chrom and Robin face off against Validar.
