Certainly the majority of the Craigslist transactions are legitimate and successful. But there are Craigslist scams that sellers should be aware of that are dangerous and pose a substantial financial risk to the unaware. Craigslist requires you to provide a contact point and some detail of your geographic location. I immediately got an email from an individual asking to stop by my house to view the dishes. I provided my address and we agreed to a time for the visit. The person never showed up. I refused to consider forwarding funds to anyone else. The check was drawn on a New York employees union account. At that point I realized fully that I was being scammed.
