IT Services creates a D2L course site for every class section. Instructors may wish to combine multiple D2L course sites into one. A merged course site — known as a D2L Course Combine — can simplify course management. Or a combined course site helps facilitate student discussion across class sections. When a D2L Course Combine occurs, all instructors and students enrolled in the multiple course sites move to one parent course site within D2L. Instructors then have one D2L course site to manage instead of several. This also means that all students in the combined course get the same gradebook and grade setup. It is not possible to create separate gradebooks for each section in a combined course. If students in different sections need different gradebook setups, it is recommended that the courses not be combined.
