The Iron Keep presents a formidable fortress that was too heavy for its base and is thus sinking into lava. As you enter the area, head down the stairs on your left for the Threshold Bridge bonfire , and a Human Effigy under the stairs. You need high fire resistance to survive this. Take everything mentioned above into consideration when traveling through the lava. Head back up the stairs, and head over the bridge, ignoring the stairs on the right.

In the room just before the outside area you find the fog gate for the old iron king, the room with the spiked walls and the flame statues, there is a ladder you can climb up that has the 3rd bonfire. It also has a lever that lets you turn off all the flame statues.
