Much like the Plague Doctor, the Grave Robber is one of the first heroes that you'll be able to have on your team when you start playing Darkest Dungeon 2 for the first time. The Grave Robber, also known as Audrey and GR, is a versatile hero that's always ready for a fight and a shot of whiskey. She tends to be quite a chatty character and will often voice her disdain if you have to stop and help people or if you run across a bumpy section of the road. She's viable in any rank in the party and specializes in Stealth, Dodge, and Blight-based attacks. Out of all the heroes in Darkest Dungeon 2, she has some of the most variety when it comes to paths and attack styles, which makes her a very viable asset for most popular comps. Every hero in Darkest Dungeon 2 has a selection of paths to pick from, which are essentially classes or specializations.

She hides in the shadows, slays monsters, and robs graves. The Grave Robber is a back line damage-dealing hero that plays like a typical rogue character. She can jump into stealth to hide away from danger, and leap out of the shadows for a massive critical hit when your team needs it the most. Despite being one of the first starting heroes, using the Grave Robber can be just as tricky as she is. There's a lot to her kit that feels lackluster without the proper set up. While the rule of thumb in every Darkest Dungeon run is to make the most of what you have, it can be difficult sorting through exactly what the Grave Robber needs. Here is a guide to help you keep a look-out for the tools to build the best Grave Robber. As far as Resistances go, there isn't too much to write home about with the Grave Robber. She doesn't particularly resist anything well besides Blight, and her only weaker Resistances are to Stun and Move. Stun can be detrimental if the Grave Robber isn't in stealth and lacks a decent amount of Max HP, but being moved by an enemy is fairly inconsequential because most Grave Robber builds will have her moving between ranks as part of her skills. Some of her paths will reduce her Speed or her Max HP by a sizable chunk. Don't forget to use Inn Items to help mitigate those weaknesses. Out of these four, you'll rarely want to use the Wanderer because it doesn't help the Grave Robber perform well in her role.
The Deadeye path also reduces the damage of melee abilities significantly. I become like the earth! Can I really trust you to have my back?
Players that are underwhelmed by the Grave Robber in Darkest Dungeon 2 at first can be forgiven. The character's skills are a cut beneath fellow damage dealers, especially the Highwayman. The character also incentives to move around the battlefield which can ruin the positioning fight for her teammates. But Darkest Dungeon 2 disguises this hero who has a higher damage cap than most any other. Her abilities grow in strength and specialization when she selects a path, unlike other characters.
