M otorists are facing severe delays on the M25 at the Dartford Crossing on Tuesday March 12 due to a police incident. Police have confirmed that they are in attendance at the scene following concerns for the welfare of a man. It is causing severe delays for motorists. Congestion has built up on surrounding routes causing traffic jams across nearby parts of Essex and Kent. On the Kent side of the crossing there are delays in the A area at Dartford. The right-hand tunnel of the QE2 Bridge has been closed to allow motorists through from the Essex side of the crossing. There is a height limit of 15ft 9in for traffic using the Dartford Tunnel northbound, which is continuing to use the westbore of the Dartford Tunnel. A spokesperson for National Highways said: "As a result of this incident, there is a 2 hour delay on the M25 clockwise approaching the crossing, and also an hour on the anti-clockwise as only 1 tunnel is now available for traffic heading this direction. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
