When you want to feel like a proper adult, book a harbour-facing table at Don Alfonso Nestled atop the Westin, this restaurant feels like the fancy place in town, drawing celebratory diners and out-of-towners who come to revel in the views. The dishes echo the contemporary sophistication of the dining room. Eel gelato plated with a tangle of wild rose-scented tagliatelle, pulverized egg yolk and sturgeon caviar delivers a wonderful mix of flavors; tender and vibrant agnolotti are stuffed with Ontario lamb for a rich and meaty filling and doused in a decadent cheese sauce that packs a punch. The kitchen doesn't overthink many dishes, as in the perfectly cooked Nova Scotia lobster with freshly fried mushrooms and a round of spinach filled with potato puree.

It's impossible to imagine Don Alfonso without Le Peracciole. The first is a two-star Michelin-rated restaurant known throughout the world for an exquisite menu that echos the traditions of Campania, the second, an organic farm that's an indispensable source of zero-kilometer ingredients. Don Alfonso boasts several components that come together to emit a joyful but discreet elegance — the plateware, the garden and its charming nooks, the watercolor menu, the dining room's flowered armchairs, fairytale-like pergolas, and inviting sofas that make you want to sit down and chat. You cannot come to Campania and partake in the full experience here, which includes tasting Ernesto Iaccarino's dishes and sipping one of the over 25, bottles stored in a subterranean cellar that dates back to pre-Roman times. Mario Iaccarino oversees the collection. And of course, you have to see Le Peracciole with your own eyes. Those who love the land learn to know and respect it — this is the philosophy from which Alfonso Iaccarino started to give shape to his dream of rediscovering pure, uncontaminated, or mixed flavors, in short, those of the past. Doggedly supported by his wife Livia and then by his sons Ernesto and Mario, he bought a plot of land on the abandoned hillside overlooking Capri Punta Campanella and, yard by yard, built his organic farm, terracing and reclaiming the land. He began to "work" on the San Marzano tomato , to recover the real one, and then came the other vegetables, the olive grove, and the citrus orchard.

Showcasing the incredible cooking of Ernesto Iaccarino and the wonderful fresh flavours of the Amalfi coast, Don Alfonso has been a family-owned business since the nineteenth century. Based in the picturesque town of Sant Agata, where the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno meet, the building sits high above sea level, boasting spectacular views out onto the ocean. Since , the kitchen has used produce from its own dedicated farm called Le Peracciole, just a few miles away along the coast facing the island of Capri. One of the most interesting things about the villa in which the restaurant is based is the wine cellar; to get to it, staff must navigate a maze of chambers which date back to the fifteenth century, before descending down a stone staircase which runs alongside the 25, bottles owned by Ernesto and the team. At the very bottom is an old well, thirty-five metres underground, which is now used for ageing cheese.
