Dragon's Dogma is a game with a very deep combat system and a range of classes to choose from. At the beginning of the game, you are prompted to choose a class or "Vocation" for your main character and also for your Main Pawn. This choice is not permanent, and in fact, it's a really good idea to change your class now and then to vary your stats and pick up new skills. This way, you will be better equipped to face the fiends of Gransys. Class changes happen in Gran Soren, the main city of the game and a central point in Gransys. The story of Dragon's Dogma takes you here pretty quickly and you'll soon come to call it a home away from home. The actual class-changing process happens only in the Gran Soren Union Inn. Here you will find the innkeeper Asalam, who can change your class for you. When talking to Asalam, pick the "Change vocation" option to open the class changing menu. Here you will have a list of the classes that your character and your Pawn can swap into. Note that the main character can pick any of the nine classes available in the game, including the advanced hybrid ones , whereas your Pawn can only pick from the six standard classes.
