When he's working in the Blacksmith Shop , he removes his vest in favor of a beige smelting apron. When he rides Toothless , he eventually replaces his vest with a leather flying harness that attaches to Toothless' saddle. Once he begins Dragon Training , he starts to wear a Viking helmet given to him by his father.

Hiccup goes on adventures with his dragon, Toothless, dreamworks dragons hiccup, as they discover and map unexplored lands and territories. Raised by Dudes : His mother went missing when he was an infant, presumed dead. The walls of his room are soon littered with drawings of Toothless.

One night, a Stormcutter dragon broke into their house, finding baby Hiccup in the cradle. Valka rushed to his rescue only to see the dragon curiously playing with him, proving everything Valka believed about dragons to be true. The Stormcutter was startled when he noticed Valka's presence, accidentally nicking Hiccup on the chin with a wing claw when he turned to look her way.
