Guys, I posted the thread about fat dude needing chaps and they suggested mesh pants instead for protection. Well, I called the company that was suggested NewEnough and found pants I liked, BUT, they're not even close to my waist size which is apparently ginormous! I'm scared to measure the gut! So, let's revise the thread and hear from the really fat people here. I'd like to find something that's cool to ride in but will give me decent protection in case I take a spill on asphalt. The ones I found were great. They're mesh with textile on the outside and a liner on the inside for cold weather. I can ride on the road as they are, get to the woods, stop and take the textile part off and leave just the mesh and still have protection from brush. Sounds ideal for me

I had a beautiful pair of brown Carhartt overalls but as a curvy woman with thick thighs, I have had a hard time finding overalls by the brands mentioned in this post that are reinforced in the inner thighs — the Carhartts fell apart within months with their thin layer and few brands seem to have sizing that works for thicker-thighed women one of the reasons why I returned everything I ordered from Dovetail. Carhartt has "Full Swing" jackets with a wide shoulder cut and extra room in the shoulder too. One of my favorite things is that they also offer tall sizing, which I need for arm length, and a longer cut that is both flattering and offers extra coverage. Lots of sturdy pockets fit tools and cute enough to wear to town or going to a casual function. The downside is the weight feels awfully heavy to carry around.
