Welcome to Checking In , a new series of posts dedicated to the places we stay when we travel. Expect to see hotels, private rentals, and perhaps even a tent or two in these occasional posts! But it never really occurred to me to book an overnight stay in my city. Until recently, that is. But where to stay? The Dunhill Hotel , located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, was the obvious choice. The hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America , and in fact, was one of the first boutique hotels to be recognized as such.

Ive accepted a travel nursing assignment at Rex hospital in west raleigh and was wondering what apartment complexes are around there that are reasonably priced, safe and well managed. Also needs to be on bus route. Thanks for your help! Well, honestly, of those listed, only Landmark and Westgrove are what I'd consider as being close to Rex. The others are a bit out of the way, really. Don't know much about most of them I had a friend once who lived in Apartments at Westgrove and he seemed to like them pretty well. Across the street is another apartment building, Westgrove Tower a highrise that I visited once a long time ago. Seemed OK and was pretty secure. Another one near Rex is Meredith Village apartments Don't know about their prices or whether there are bus routes, but they are more options for west Raleigh to also consider. Lastly, if you like something away from major traffic but also close to Rex, then also consider Anclote Arms.
