Designed, manufactured and tested in New Zealand, the SPEEDi is an e-bike speed limit increaser that increases your standard e-bike speed by a factor of 1. Meaning all the factory temperature, battery output, torque output and power output sensors remain factory so that the ECM can control everything as per manufacturer's specifications. They do this by using a small magnet mounted anywhere on the rear wheel to pass by a speed sensor mounted on the rear frame. SPEEDi uses a mechanical planetary gear system to slow down the magnet by a factor of 1. So if your speed limit is 30kph it will now achieve 45kph.

Are Electric Scooters The Future? Should I get an electric scooter for college? Are Electric Scooters Safe? Are Electric Scooters Waterproof? Most electric bikes are equipped with a speed limiter that caps how fast you can go. This speed limit can be quite frustrating to some riders as the engine cuts off the pedal-assist you get from the motor as soon as you hit the maximum speed. In all parts of the world, there are laws and regulations governing the use of electric bikes — just as is the case with other methods of transportation. Furthermore, in order to differentiate and categorize electric bikes from other vehicles, the motor of the e-bikes must not exceed W. If your e-bike follows the aforementioned criteria, you are legally free to ride it as you would ride a traditional bike. To put it simply, almost all countries legally demand electric bikes to have a certain maximum speed, though local laws may vary from place to place. This is why e-bikes are equipped with a speed limiter. E-bikes are an environment-friendly and high-performance alternative to traditional methods of commuting. However, they are also very thrilling to ride. Such a speed restriction brings all joy of an exciting e-bike ride to a disappointing halt.
It's powered by W motor overvolted to W. We use cookies to ensure that we give you the best experience on our website. It's a w peak controller, brush-less 3 phase motor.
Hello, I bought an electric bike conversion kit and converted my own bike. However, despite the kit being advertised as around 35mph, it seems to have a speed limiter that kicks in at 26mph. It's a w peak controller, brush-less 3 phase motor. At 26mph, I get a constant w so I know I have the power to go faster and the rated rpm of the motor is so I'm not close to my limit there. There are no speed wires I can cut, I've looked and I have tried changing the wheel diameter in settings with no luck. To me it appears the only solution is to place a arduino between the 3 hall sensor wires of the motor and the controller to somehow trick the controller that I'm moving at half the speed that I actually am.
I knew there had to be a way to unlock its true potential and reach greater speeds. By delving into the intricate world of technology, I was able to manipulate the settings, enhancing both speed and performance. In this article, I will guide you through the steps to program your electric bike controller for an exhilarating ride like never before. The first step in understanding the electric bike controller is to familiarize yourself with its components and how they work together. The electric bike controller consists of several key components, including the throttle, motor, battery, and various sensors. The throttle is responsible for controlling the speed of the electric bike by sending signals to the controller. Understanding throttle mapping is crucial as it determines the responsiveness of the bike to the throttle input.

Electric bikes are usually designed with a speed limiter. However, some people find it difficult because the motor will keep down the limits once it reaches top speed. Knowing how to remove the speed limiter on an electric bike will help you do that. To remove the speed limiter on your ebike, you need to locate the limiter wire first. Another way is by modifying the ebike circuite which needs a little extra work. We cannot remove a e-bike speed limiter wire. Also, we can neither identify nor locate it, but proper knowledge is essential before proceeding. This will help in increasing speed on electric bike. Although removing the speed limiter from the e-bike will allow us to drive faster, it can cause various issues at the same time.

This is because manufacturers often install speed limiters in their bikes to prevent them from breaking local e-bike speed laws. So even if the motor can propel the ebike to top speeds of 40 miles per hour, the limiter or speed governor will prevent this from happening by restricting the flow of current to the motor once a set speed could be 15 mph [for most countries in Europe], 20 mph, or even 28 mph [for states in the US] has been reached. While this safety feature helps lower the risk of violent collisions, it can be a bit of a drag for riders looking to explore the limits of their electric bikes.
I'm gonna borrow my friends 52v battery soon and see if I notice a difference. Lift the motor driven wheel from the ground and apply full throttle. Shop By Style. The gear is made from T6 Aluminium.
