Ross's affinity with the beauty inherent in Australian Eucalypt Timbers started when he was growing up on the family farm, he fondly remembers admiring the majestic presence of some of the very old eucalypt trees on the property especially in the late afternoon sun. One of Ross's chores on the farm involved chopping up firewood which is when he used to observe the different colours, textures and densities within different types of eucalypts. Then his passion for Eucalypt timbers grew rapidly when his business started using some recycled hardwood to make furniture. This was after being absolutely blown away after a visit to Nicholas Dattner's showroom in Melbourne many years ago, this would have been in the mid to late 80's and Ross has always credited this guy for being a pioneer in using Australian hardwood timbers to make high quality furniture.
