Beech Estate Campsite is most definitely the latter — no electricity, no mobile phone signal and a wheelbarrow for weaving your gear through the trees to the tent. If that all sounds like too much effort, then you may want to move on in search of something more suitable. The Beech Estate site is the larger of the two. Tent pitches here are nestled among the trees or spread out in individual clearings and private spaces. The woods of the estate spread, in total, across some 2, acres. The forest is all yours. There are also eight wild-glamping bell tents, each with its own separate clearing, which come complete with beds, chairs, a picnic table, cookware, a firepit, logs and an eco cooking stove.

We coupled this with the chance for our campers to enjoy a campfire with their family, or a small group of friends, and this approach has proved incredibly popular. We love what we have created so far and our aim is keep providing real camping and wild glamping to those looking to put aside technology and slow down their pace of life. At Pegs and Pitches our beautiful campsites are located in areas where nature and wildlife can flourish. From coppiced stands of ancient woodland to carefully managed forest meadows and glades, each site and the surrounding land are managed to encourage encounters with the natural world. The bell tents are kitted out with beds, camping furniture and cooking equipment all provided. If you really want to get away from it all, you might like the seclusion of our Faraway Tent Pitches or, for a pitch with a view, choose our extra-special Valley View Pitch. We also have pitches especially for hammock campers and a number of dedicated areas which offer space for groups to camp together. Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful weekend at the faraway pitch on Beech Estate. From the host. My pitch was F1 but I overheard the very friendly warden tell some other guests that F3 is the most choice spot.
