An employer previously providing less than 5 days or 40 hours of paid sick leave per year will need to provide employees a new copy of the notice. In general terms, starting on January 1, , the law requires employers to provide and allow employees to use at least 40 hours or five days of paid sick leave per year. How employers provide this leave depends on what kind of plan your employer chooses to offer in order to comply with the paid sick leave law.
