So, as per tradition when I play these games, I can now finally start making new characters, to mess with the game to its full extent, and decide how I ultimately feel about it my first playthrough never leaves a good impression of the game on me, due to how I try not to spoil content and usually stick to one build, without looking up enemy weaknesses.

It can be a frustrating area for unfamiliar Elden Ring players who quickly succumb to madness without realizing why it's happening. Elden Ring is well known for its frustrating locations , some of which can leave players feeling a little sore when an enemy or some ill effect unexpectedly jumps out and causes them to lose all their runes. Madness can be a particularly tough status effect to suddenly be afflicted with as it makes spellcasting impossible and can quickly drain health. The Frenzy-Flaming Tower around Liurnia of the Lakes is a location where first-time players may suddenly find themselves afflicted with madness, and they may not even realize why it's happening. One player has figured out a clever solution for how to deal with it. They made a post about being able to fool the Madness Eye on top of the Frenzy-Flaming Tower, which may come across to many observers as an obvious homage to the Eye of Sauron from Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings , a series that clearly inspires Miyazaki and his crew in the making of many of their fantasy worlds. The Madness Eye above the Frenzy-Flaming Tower will continually build the player's madness meter as long as they are within range and view, but apparently, disguises are an effective tool against this problem. The video showcases the player using a Mimic Veil item as a disguise. The Mimic Veil typically isn't one of the more useful items in Elden Ring , and many players often ignore it outside of occasional experiments that can make for funny videos, like sneaking up behind an enemy player in PvP. In this case, though, the Mimic Veil proves extremely useful, as it completely negates the effect of the Madness Eye, which disappears once the villagers at the top of the tower are killed. The Frenzy-Flaming Tower is an out-of-the-way location with no boss that is really only there for players who want the incantation Howl of Shabriri.

The Flame of Frenzy spell is cast to conjure multiple offensive flames that travel forward. Causes the yellow flame of frenzy to burst forth from the caster's eyes. Charging increases the range of the burst. The flame of frenzy deals damage and causes buildup of madness. Madness is a Status Effect in Elden Ring. Status Effects are various buffs or ailments that apply either a beneficial or detrimental effect to the target. Status Effects can be applied to both enemies and players alike. Status Effects are triggered after a buildup meter is filled by repeated application of attacks that cause the effect. Both players and enemies can have varying resistances to a given Status Effect. Madness is a status effect that builds up through the repeated application of the effect. Madness is inflicted via various means including Weapons , Skills , and Spells. Once the Madness meter is filled, the effect is triggered and the target loses Focus Points FP , rendering them unable to cast Spells. The target also takes health damage.

Why is it that in game we can see madness afflicting soldiers, knights, rats, and giants, but all of these enemies are somehow immune to the madness status effect when you are wielding it?
